I just thought I'd give you all a progress report on the upgrade etc. I notice a few member commenting on site glitches, this is no doubt due to the server tweaks we are undertaking at the minute.
I have a very talented coder that works for Vbulletin working on the site in the background and moving my 2 servers onto a new fast, secure, arch Linux setup and tweaked for performance and security, so please expect a few glitches while the new server gets tuned.
The Site will be taken down over the coming days a few times to enable the copy of live database to the new server. It has taken way longer than i had initially hoped due to some incompatibility issues between our existing gallery and auction script.
After weeks of testing and tweaking we are almost ready to convert the gallery to the new format and launch the new site..
As you know I have never monetized breedbay with adverts so funds for the upgrade have been limited which has slowed down progress as i haven't been able to simply employ an army of coders to complete it quicker and we have literally upgraded or replaced a majority of the original site with improved features:
Apart from the bits you don't see, ie layers of security, massively faster professionally configured server, here's whats been happening and will all be revealed soon.

- New Seed Store - including Integrated Bitcoin Checkout
- New Always On Chat ( sits in task bar so you can chat while browsing the site)
- Upgraded Forum now on vbulletin 4.xx
- New Navigation Tabs - (allows you to add your favorite pages to your personal tab layout.)
- Points system for rewarding quality content, redeemable against purchases.
- monthly contest winners displayed in a flip book with 2 pages for each strain with image to the left and a write up about the strain opposite.
Stage 2 - soon after launch
- New Auction script to replace existing
- Integrated bitcoin payments
- credit card phone payments
- Unified login option so you can choose if your vbulletin login logs you into all other sites also or you can choose to create separate accounts if you are concerned about confidentiality.
