Damn it feels great to get my hands back in soil and have my lovely ladies growing! It's just like old times again!
I'm trying to maximize my growing season, so I have a hoopie-style greenhouse. Open-ended for now, but will be fully enclosed in the winter. I can get 3 staggered cycles before daylight hours drop if I overlap by about a week or two on either end of bloom. My first was done too early, and the seedlings bloomed at about 3 weeks, and carried all the way through maturation. It's a small harvest of probably close to 1.5oz, but screw it...I'll take that still. I have two more waves of seedlings and clones for the second cycle going now, and things are going far better! The climate this time of year is 100% perfect for cannabis here. We get rain every week or so, and it's dry and hot the rest of the time. I can even root clones outside under a dome, with 90% success.
Anyway, the second cycle is only a couple weeks from really setting into bloom, so buckle up and enjoy the ride!!
Oh, as I mentioned in my zinn x dark cross thread, I'm using an experimental soil mix in my pots (yes pots...no good soil here)...I talked to Lou years back, and he was telling me there's something about the swamp mud around here. He used to take buckets of the stuff and dump it in his dwc reservoir the last couple weeks of bloom and it rounded shit out nicely. At the time, I shook my head and went FFS, I want what this dude is smoking!!! But I saw the mud he was talking about. It's packed with seabird guano and it's as black as space!! So I've been mixing that 1:1 with sand to dry it out, then that goes 1:1 to a nice rich potting soil mix, and damn do the results speak for themselves!!!
Up first is a last ditch creation of mine from a few years ago to hold on to some blue dream I was growing, which was culled and never made it to bloom. But I did have a male drop pollen, and I collected some to sprinkle on my prized dynasty soliliqueen lady that was at the perfect stage for pollinating at the time. This SoQ x BD girl looks damn near all soliliqueen, which is fine by me. Damn did I love that one!! She's about 3ft now, and 8f she's anything like mom, she's gonna hit the ceiling and bend over, and at week 10 might foxtail. That'll be fun!!

Next is another SoQ x BD but she's much more hybrid. She was one of the first to be planted this season, in cycle 1. She suffered from short days and bloomed at about 4 weeks. She stinks like sour candied weed, and is at about week 7 now, with a small scattering of amber trichs. I'll chop her at 40%, which shouldn't take long at all.
